Post DHCP and 46XX's

Anyone have issues with 4606 (2nd gen) and 4612 (1st gen) and DHCP? We are a W2K network. The phones display DHCP.... then timeout, reset and go thru the process again. It seems to be pretty prevalent, so not sure if it's a network issue or just crappy phones.

I haven't had any issues with DHCP. What other messages are on the phone display?

that's it... they never make it past acquiring an IP address. If we hardcode the IP, reboot, they work fine. It's more intermittent than I would like, it's not a hard fast problem. But, on the other hand, it happens more often than I'd like. Users get pissed.

sounds like you are not running a DHCP server, without that running you must load static, if you load static and they work then your DHCP server isnt working, Also are you running the lastest firmware on those phones current is 1.8R

the IP Phones also require more DCHP setting than just a PC. Double check that you have all of the setting.

as well as a TFTP server, that is where the upload comes from for the firmware belonging to that style, 4602, 4606, ....
