I see you are still waiting for an answer.

Audix does not support .wav files, sorry.

Re: How do i upload recorded announcement to Audix

I do not know the release of your Intuity so I do not know if you use tapes or a CD. Files can be uploaded to an Audix from that media (tape or CD) using an option in the Intuity main menu.

Where they are to be saved and the link to the files are in the install script. You might call Avaya and see if they still provide this service.

Alternatively, the method provided in the Audix for you to add custom announcements is by the telephone handset. I can't direct you to the menu choice that takes you to this option because that depends on your software release.

The Audix voice files are in a proprietary format. Even if you knew where they were there is not much you can do with them.

Re: How do i upload recorded announcement to Audix

Your biggest obstacle is going to be that Avaya is not going to give you access to the UNIX operating system. You need that in order to upload anything to it.

The ability to ftp files into the Audix was never a part of its' design for the user. That is too big a hole in security.

I would stick with the Avaya approved methods.

Re: How do i upload recorded announcement to Audix

well noted marty.. thanks..

this is actually because one of our clients forwarded us a pre-recorded announcement for their callback extensions (our internal mailbox)... and they want the exact announcement... recording from pc to phone has some audio quality issues thats why am looking for a way to just upload the announcement.

but for now, will have to do the traditional way.. then will have them comment if acceptable.

While there may be no way around this, a quality enhancing method of using the PC->Phone recording method would be to purchase a Plantronics MX10 multi-media headset amplifier. This amplifier has PC Audio and Microphone jacks so that you can connect the PC sound card directly to the telephone. You can use it to playback wav/mp3/other audio files into your phone or use it to record telephone conversations directly into your PC. We've used it to record TN750C announcements using MickeySofts Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe) in preparation of a VAL upgrade.

Just a thought ...
