S8300 LSP . Cannot save translations on LSP
Hello ALL,
I have an S8300/G700 as a primary server and S8300/G350 as an LSP. Although I administered the media gateway (G350) and it is in service, and although I set the LSP in service, I cannot save translations on LSP. Please note that when I connect to the LSP I get the message "Local Survivable Processor - Translations cannot be saved" Last edited by savvasc; May 30th, 2006 at 11:55 PM. |

Re: S8300 LSP out-of-service
In addition to what Al said, in "ch sys main" you must also stroke it to "save trans to LSP" or else the trans will only save to the main. If after that it still does not save to the LSP, check the firewall of the LSP and make sure under "advanced" that TCP 514 is checked. I have found that without that checked it does not work.

Re: S8300 LSP out-of-service
I have run into this issue multiple times due to incompatible software patches between the LSP and the primary server. It seems like only Tier III at Avaya holds the magical list as to what patches/loads will and won't work together, at least in my experience, so you may want to give them a shot. However this problem is also usally accompanied by an 'out-of-service' state on the LSP (the MG remains in service), so it may not be your issue, but it's worth checking if the previous suggestions don't work.

Ideally, however, you want them on the SAME release and patch. regs, .al.

Re: S8300 LSP out-of-service
Good document, Al. I am glad to see it in writing. The docs on the CD do explain the process but they don't include this release mapping.
When you upgrade a system that has LSPs, you start with the LSPs first and the main is done last. The goal when complete is to have all machines on the same load as previously mentioned.
