Route Pattern = p92 - whats the P for
Ive got some strange routing going on at a site thats route patterns are prefixed with the letter P.
I see some other sites that have the P, but they are working fine - and doing a trace it just lists the router pattern number - without a P.. Thanks Ross |

Re: Route Pattern = p92 - whats the P for
The "p" (Beginning with Definity G3v7si/csi/r platforms) stands for partitioned route table. After version 6 Avaya created a partitioned route table, which you can find using the command 'cha partitioned' x . Where the 'x' is the partitioned route entry that you would like to begin with. This table is used when you have multiple 'partitioned' groups in ARS. In ARS you can enter a 'partitioned route index entry' OR a direct route pattern. When you use the 'partitioned route index entry', the PBX will route a call based on the entries in that table for the various 'partitioned groups'. If you are NOT using multiple partitioned groups, just enter a direct route pattern number in the ARS 'route pattern' fields to keep things simple for yourself. For more information, see 'partitioned route index' in the definity server documentation, V7 and up. You will find no reference to this object for V6 and earlier ECS.

Re: Route Pattern = p92 - whats the P for
To amplifiy the above answer, in ARS you have p92. Display (or change partitioned 92) you will see the route patterns that are called by that partition.
If the only route pattern shown is in column one, you do not need partitioned routing for that choice. If there are more than one route pattern in that partition, then you need to investigate what's programmed. It could be tenant partitioning, time-of-day, COR, or other reasons.

Re: Route Pattern = p92 - whats the P for
Let me just ask this question -
For a particular location (9) it seems no matter what number they dial, it is routing out the wrong trunk group (313). If I do a list route, all of the route patterns that are named according to that location - do not even mention grp 313. Doing a list ars analys loc 9 is listing anything they dial going to a route pattern that has a P before the number. That is what brought up my original question. I looked at another location that was using a p## for the route pattern and did a trace, it said that it would use p123 and it just used 123 so I didnt see what the p was doing or if that would change the route it would take. So basically the problem is simple - all calls that I have traced from one location go out a trunk thats never mentioned in their route pattern... |

Re: Route Pattern = p92 - whats the P for
If the partitiioned route pattern has only one choice, it is not being used so just eliminate it and replace the p## with the route pattern that you want to use in the ARS tables.
