ISDN trunk configuration
Is there someone who can help me setup our trunk group (ISDN). First is we ordered an ISDN E1 There are no DDI numbers attached to PRI. only one main calling number. how can I configure it wherein I will be able to route it to a vdn number. because the pupose of the line is to have a calling number then will route to the agents via vdn, vector and skill. If I have the main number 866-1234 how would I be able to route it to a vdn number? lets say vdn 3456.
Btw. someone told me that it is done on the incoming call handling treatment. How do I do it provided the numbers above? Thank you in advance |

Re: ISDN trunk configuration
Hi,
Itīs very simple,... assuming that you already have your E1 configured properly, you only need in page 3 of your trunk configuration ( command : ch tru xx ), to insert (knowing the number of digits your PSTN is sending ) those xxxx digits of your main number then point to the vdn. Eg: Page 3 of trunk configuration INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT Service/ Called Called Del Insert Per Call Night Feature Len Number CPN/BN Serv public-ntwrk 4 xxxx (*1) 4 xxxx(*2) (*1) - itīs yourīs 4 last digits of the main number. (*2) - The number of your VDN ( in this example i use also 4 digits) Hope it helps |

Re: ISDN trunk configuration
The easiest way is to make the VDN the same number as the number being called. For instance, if a call to 866-1234 is to be handled a certain way, your VDN would be 1234. The call will automatically be directed to the correct VDN just like it would be to a telephone.
You can manipulate the incoming call on the ISDN trunk group form page three wherein you tell the switch that a particular incoming call to 866-1234 will be redirected to 3456 by deleting and substituting digits. I don't recommend that unless you really have no choice because it adds another layer to your programming that you may not remember you did five years from now.

Hi Ahays,
thanks for the clarification. Can you help me do the configuration on the one I sent? I pasted it below. Re: ISDN trunk configuration
its as the previous post said, you just need to match the number of digits sent by the PTT, the example showed 4, if it was 6 digits they sent ,it would be like this:
public-ntwrk 6 xxxxxx 6 xxxx -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT Service/ Called Called Del Insert Per Call Night Feature Len Number CPN/BN Serv public-ntwrk 4 xxxx (*1) 4 xxxx(*2) (*1) - itīs yourīs 4 last digits of the main number. (*2) - The number of your VDN ( in this example i use also 4 digits) |

OK if i understand you this is how it goes:
If I were doing this I would use UDP. With ISDN it works alot better. Quote:
