Avaya4690 with Definity G3

We have Definity G3 phone system in USA office. In India 18 Avaya 4610SW IP phones are working fine with DHCP environment & TFTP which connects to USA phone system through a VPN tunnel with average 350ms latency.

But Recently purchased Avaya4690 IP conference phone is not working in same environment, it simply keeps on rebooting with a message "Discovering...Please Wait"

Any suggestions to work out ?

Re: Avaya4690 with Definity G3

What release is your Definity and was the phone bought new or refurbished?

An interesting point about 46XX firmware is that you cannot go backwards with it. If the phone was refurbished and came originally from a switch running CM2.2, for example, and you have a 9.5 Definity the phone will not work. The older switch does not know how to deal with the newer firmware and there is no erase option with the phone.

Also, if it is an older switch, it won't know what a 4690 is.

Lastly, if the switch is new enough and the phone is new (meaning no firmware has been previously installed), do you have the 4690 firmware on the TFTP server?

yes firmware is on TFTP.
Issue is, same 4690IP phone is working at USA office with same firmware from TFTP where both become on same LAN.
In my case I have 4690IP which should connect to the same phone system at USA office.
