Re: Where/what PBX code to turn on message light?
I think I resolved the LWC issue. I segregated one VM port just to activate and deactivate LWC. It seems to be working (it’s a sloppy way).
AL: none of my PBX (sys75-G1-G3v2-v5) has mode code feature. PBX’s G3v6-v11 has the option but is not activated in the customer option. |

Re: Where/what PBX code to turn on message light?
It seems to me that Aleen is not providing the support they should. If they want to sell their product to you, they should be willing to help you make it work. Not tell you to use a feature code and leave you hanging. I am sure that they have encountered Avaya switches before and someone there MUST know how to implement it.
For instance, does their voice mail support DCP (digital) interface in addition to analog? The Definity Audix works this way, it emulates a 7405 for the interface. Call Aleen. If you are thinking about putting one in at each remote site, it is in their best interest to help you. You still might have to call Avaya and pay to activate a feature, but now you will know. If you have to upgrade a Sys 75, make sure you are sitting down when you call. Your minimum upgrade will be to a G3si release 11 from Avaya. The alternative will be an Intuity and you can buy several refurbished Intuitys for the price of one upgrade.

Re: Where/what PBX code to turn on message light?
Al/Marty: Thanks for all your help. I am trying to work with AVAYA partner to turn on “Mode code interface”, G3v4 and above at least. I am pretty sure it will be very expensive and a painful experience. ALEEN have not call back yet but I will keep you posted with my result. Thanks again!
P.S: I may post new question regarding call center, VRU and RLT or VRLT |

You might ask the Business Partner to also provide a quote on an Intuity LX in lieu of the Mode Code RTUs. The LX is a reasonably priced voicemail system. It won't hurt to get a price. Quote:
