Problem with advice of charge on DS1
Hi guys,
After upgrading from Definity to S8500, G650 we can no longer receive advice of charge on ISDN PRI (TN 464 circuit pack). The CDR works fine through the terminal server exept that it's receiving zeros for call charges. Anyone had this problem or any ideas? Thanks

Re: Problem with advice of charge on DS1
Call charges is not data carried on an ISDN T1, that is provided by the call accounting system. I would check there to make sure all the tables are ok. Make sure it knows about the system change. If you have tech support for the CDR, give them a call it might need to be upgraded also. If you had a custom CDR configuration, it might not have survived the upgrade. I have seen that happen.
Just some ideas.

Re: Problem with advice of charge on DS1
The problem is that with the S8500 and the terminal server I cannot get the isdn-cc charges on the SMDR output. Although the local PTT is sending me that field, I cannot get it on the CDR. Do you have any ideas? Is the problem with the terminal server or is it due to the S8500? The format is ok because I am using this format on the old definity si system and it was ok

Have you checked with the CDR vendor to make sure it is compatible to your new switch? If it is an old call accounting system, it also might need to be upgraded.

Re: Problem with advice of charge on DS1
Actually the problem is that the S8500 is sending zeros in the isdn-cc field even after upgrading the firmware of the C-LAN to fw15. I've checked that with Rdtt tool, so is not a call accounting problem.

Re: Problem with advice of charge on DS1
On the switch CDR page there are two options you might try (if you haven't done so already), "Use ISDN Layouts" and "Use Enhanced Formats". Try changing those one at a time. Another possibility is to use a custom format, this gives you a second page to the CDR page. Here you can define exactly what you want the switch to send out. One of the fields you can define is isdn-cc and according to the CM3.0 docs it is an 11 character field.

Re: Problem with advice of charge on DS1
The isdn-cc field is always zero for some reason. I have tried all the options that you mentioned. I think it's probably a bug of the S8500. I've upgraded the C-lan to FW ver. 15 but still nothing.

Re: Problem with advice of charge on DS1
I am looking at the documents for an S8500 and there are a couple of parameters to set on the trunk group form to pass call charge data. Lets make sure you have those parameters set.
CDR Reports: y Service Type: public-ntwrk Supplementary Service Protocol: a Charge Advice: end-on-request You might have to busy the trunk group to make the Service Type change. If you want to see for yourself what I am looking at start the Avaya document that you installed to your computer from the CD that came with the switch. Click on S8500 and choose Administration/Reference from there, then choose Administrator's Guide from there. Toward the bottom of that document you will see "Collecting Billing Information", under that you will see "Receiving Call-Charge Information". Open that menu item and you will see how to collect call charge info from ISDN and non-ISDN trunks. This should solve your problem.
