Cms Reset Passwords

I have a really dumb question here. Does anyone know how to reset passwords in CMS. I am talking about the password you login into with the application with.(CMS Supervisor) I have heard that this is impossible to do. Does anyone know of another work around other than deleting there account the re-adding it........????????? Thanks for any support.

login as root. at the # prompt enter the command "passwd loginid" where loginid is the actual loginid.

Re: Cms Reset Passwords

telnet to the CMS

Login as root type the following command

Passwd -d "username"

do not include the parenthesis when the user logs in they will be prompted for a password in the same manner as when they first logged on.

let me know if this works.

For anyone who wants to know how each of the UNIX commands work, just login to the command line (# or $, it doesn't matter) and type "man passwd" (or any other command) and you will get all the options available for that command and some samples. This applies to all the UNIX or Linux boxes, including the S8XXX servers.
