One Way Transmission Avaya S8700

Hello

I was wondering whether anybody had experience with the one way transmission and Avaya VOIP. We have six sites from Ireland to India and they are all experiencing some from of lost voice. Its about 5% of our total daily call volume

Any help or advice with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

B

If you are using g700/g350 gateways, check if the ip route is set properly for the voip. If yes, you may check the firmwares on the voip or medpro. Finally a sniffer trace shd be helpful in determining the issue.

Check your firewall settings. You may be blocking some critical port, either between the sites or between VLANs. This can give you weird problems like "I can hear you fine are you sure you can't you hear me?"

I had a one way transmission issue when performing NAT. Found that you would need application level firewall to be able to use NAT. Use a sniffer on both ends of the connection if possible, verify the IP's and ports are correct.
For clarification are you getting one way transmission or 5% packet loss?
