Voice Message Indicator lights through a MUX

Does anyone have any information on getting an Analog station Voice Message Lamp to light through an Analog MUX?

I am attempting to make this work using a DS1 connected to an Adtran TSU600 Analog MUX. So far the LED lights when the phone rings, and "Audible Message Waiting" works however I cannot get the VM LED to light for a message waiting. Could someone provide guidance? Has anyone used an application like this?

in the adtran port assignment you may need to identify "fxs with message lamp" and definity used to require a special power supply in a card slot to power those message lamps. the remote station would also have to be assigned to a port in the same carrier as the power supply.

I do not see this as an option in my Adtran TSU600

I should be okay with this as I have the power supply in the same carrier as the DS1 card.

I got a reply from Adtran with the following.

Quote:

If you're using a DSX-1 port on one side and FXS on the other, you can use message waiting, but only if the PBX can be configured in how it sets the message waiting indicator. Our FXS cards look for a C and D bit set to 01 to indicate message waiting while the A and B bits do normal call signalling. If you can't configure the sig bits in this fashion, you won't be able to indicate message waiting.
Does anyone know if it is possible to manipulate the Control Signaling Bits in the Def G3R V9.5?

i don't think i can answer the signaling bits question. if your fxs setup options do not offer mwi options per port, you may be using an adtran module too old to offer that feature

Thanks for your reply in anycase. I don't see any settings to manipulate the call control bits in Definity switches. I think I'll check on getting a new FXS mod.
