unanswered Incoming calls dont disconnect

I need urgent help to resolve a problem.
The issue is that, when an Incoming call (call from outside our PBX) is not answered, the line remains engaged and the phone rings continuously even after the caller has dropped the call.
The PBX is an S8500 server and G650 gateway.

Does the call come from a co trunk? We had similar problems before, and the thing was that the PBX wasn't understanding the hang tone, so the call was not ended after the caller hang the phone.

If these are POTS trunks, make sure that the setting for ground start or loop start is correct for the type of trunk coming in.

Yes the Lines are CO trunks and they have been set for loopstart. When i set the busy disconnect field on page 3 of the trunk form to "yes" and i call the numbers i get disconnected on listening to the auto attendant for 3secs but if i change the incoming destination to an extension everything works fine.
The auto attendant is just a simple vector , wait 2secs and collect digits....
