I need help to configure the ISDN PRI D channel - We have just installed S8700

Thanks Geremia...but I am still confuse ...
I have added an ISDN PRI trunk group with 23 members in it...now how do I map a 24th channel (that I was planning to use as a D-channel?

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Letīs assume that your isdn trunk members are 01A10xx. Of the 24 ports available to assemble a isdn trunk you must leave one to create your signalling group.

So if you left 01A1024 out of the isdn trunk group, thatīs the port you must assign when creating the signalling group.

In fact you must create first the signalling group, to associate the number group of the signalling channel to the isdn trunk.

i have a problem... i have installed and configured an new trunk. configured (trunk group, ds1 board and signalling goup). but i still can't recieve calls

Interworking Message: PROGress Protocol Version: b
Interface Companding: alaw CRC? y
Idle Code: 11111111
DCP/Analog Bearer Capability: 3.1kHz


Slip Detection? n Near-end CSU Type: other
Echo Cancellation? n

the status of the signalling group is always out of service, while the trunk status is in service (some times)
when i make calls to the trunk numbers from a land line, it rings in the speaker, but i don't see it on the phone set connected to the pbx. avaya s8700
i am from Egypt, we use E1s and etsi protocol.

Hi,

I think your problem is in your DS1 Configuration, try ALAW with 01010100 as idle code.
