ec500
Is there a way to change the forwarding number programmed on the ec500 button for someone in the S8500 through ASA? Someone used this station before and they had the button programmed to thier cell phone and now we need to change it for this new user. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Rod~ |

I am trying to set up EC500. I am running CM 3.0 EC500 v6.
I have the Admin Guide 210-100-500 version 6.0 issue 9 June 2005. Question 1 - SAFE and FNE's I am having trouble with the EC500 Self-Administration access code (FAC p. 2). I am calling in via the Telecommuter number, entering the SAFE FAC, entering extn #, station security code #, 10-digit number / 1 + 10-digit number. Here is the issue: When changing the mapped-to number via the SAFE FAC, it wipes out the entry in the Dial Prefix and the Phone Number column. Therefore, you cannot enter '1' in Dial Prefix and 10-digit number in Phone Number column because if the Phone Number is updated via SAFE, '1' is removed from the Dial Prefix column and entering a 10-digit number through SAFE gives wave off. Entering 1 + 10-digit number through SAFE works -- confirmation tones. HOWEVER, none of the FNE work with 1 + 10-digit number in the Phone Number column. Page 42 in the Install Guide says: "The dial prefix is deleted when a user enters their cell phone number using the SAFE access code. The routing tables must be set properly so that the dial prefix '1' is not needed for correct routing." OK -- updated ARS digit conversion for two area codes we use. Matching Pattern = 3 digit area code Min = 10 Max = 10 Del = 0 Replacement string = 1 Net = ars Conv = n ANI Req = n. Wonderful. Now with SAFE, I can enter a 10-digit number and receive the confirmation tones. BUT when I look at the off-pbx-telephone mapping station form, the 1 is in front of the number entered via SAFE in the Phone Number column. And that means, FNE's no longer work. Conclusion: we can use SAFE to update the number the PBX extension is mapped to, but can no longer use FNE's. OR we can't use SAFE, and we can use the FNE's. Has anyone got SAFE to work? Question 2 -- Barge in Tone Barge-in tone is set to y on configuration set form. p.60 of admin guide also says the following must be true: "The conference tone is administered in the country form." Not sure what is meant by country form. There's a system parameters country-options form, but nothing relating to conference tone is on there. Took a shot at changing sys features p. 6 Conference Tone to yes. Tested and didn't hear a barge tone when picking up on the office phone. Anyone get the Barge-in tone to work? Question 3: Anyone try to set up a menu so that users don't need to memorize / look up the FNE's? I tried, but the route-to FNE if digits = x step failed. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!! |
