6408D+ HEadset Problem
I cannot seem to get a Plantronics adapter and GN headset to work.. I bought the adapter.. then got a headset. I connect the handset to the adapter.. connect the adapter to the handset jack in back of the phone.
The "headset" button we programmed does not work.. when I hit the button... i can neither hear nor talk via the headset... however muting via the plantronics adapter DOES in fact mute the phone's handset. Other than the "headset" button, is there any programming I must do? This cannot be that difficult. |

Re: 6408D+ HEadset Problem
I think the batteries are ok.. but I will change them. The MUTE actually works, though.. meaning, you can mute the handset by hitting the amp's MUTE button.. anyway, seems like a lot of hassle for something so trivial. I realize the 6424s are direct-connect.. same with 16s.

Ah yes, the 6408D+ Headset. We pretty much started using 6416's for ppl who need headsets. If I recall correctly our rep mentioned that the Headset button does not work on the 6408D+. We began using the Avaya 8400 One Touch for the 6408's but the kicker is... You have to remove the Handset from the Cradle before you can use the Headset. Once the Handset was removed then we could use the Headset button to answer calls.
The Headset button works with the Aux jack under the 6416's in conjunction with the proper cord, the 6000 QD cord. Your not crazy... The phones are!!

Re: 6408D+ HEadset Problem
I can get the headset to work on my 6408D+. Here's what I am using a plantronics visa amp M12 and a old lucent headset.
I programmed a headset button. Press it and I get dialtone in the headset. I also have the headset button depress on the amp. Am I off hear or is this what you are trying to do... |

liquidvw,
From that config, can you just lift the handset and get dial tone? Or do you need to press buttons? I'll have to order one of those plantronics and check it out.

Re: 6408D+ HEadset Problem
Well not really. With the plantronics amp. There are 2 buttons and 1 dial. Mute, headset/handset, and volume control. If the headset/handset button is depressed, only the headset will work. If it is not depressed the handset will only work.
Most people who I have set up this way leave the headset/handset button depressed and just use the headset button on their phone to answer calls via the headset. :) Here is a link for the amp. http://www.plantronics.com/north_ame...100/prod440100 |
