Differentiate between EC500 feature and Call Forwarding
Hey guys,
I am not really able to appreciate the additonal benefits of EC500 feature over call-forwarding on avaya. Also it seems having EC500 does not help me to make outbound calls by accessing the Avaya. Can anyone help me out in clearly differentiating/highlighting the advantages/features of EC500 over call forwarding. Regards, Dinesh :( |

Re: Differentiate between EC500 feature and Call Forwarding
WOW!
One advantage to is that it is a true "bridge". When a call is placed to an extension of the Definity, it also rings the other device (ie.. cell phone) at the same time. For example; Lets say you get a call on your extension (XXXX) and you are at the coffee shop. Your cell phone will ring and you answer the call. The calling party only dialed your Definity extension. However, you answered the call on your cell phone at the coffee shop. You can continue the conversation on your cell phone all the way to your desk. If you want to save cell minutes, just press the call appearence button on your phone ( it's green at this point) and continue the conversation w/ no interuption. Hang up your cell phone and continue to speak. Call forwarding to your cell phone will result in the calling party leaving a message in your cell phone VM. W/ EC 500 activated, it will follow your coverage path of your extension. Hope this helps. regards. |

Re: Differentiate between EC500 feature and Call Forwarding
One other nice benefit is the Caller ID mangling. If I call another user on/through the Avaya PBX with EC500 enabled, the PBX recognizes the caller ID of my cell phone as being tied to my office extension and changes the caller ID display to be your office extension.
