web access on IP Phones
We use 4620 IP phones and we were trying to set it up with web access. The txt file is set properly with all the setting; however, the phone is not adding the web button nor does it show anywhere that there is access. Anything anyone would know to try.
Also with softphone.. I have outlook integrated to dial from contact lists, but how am I able to dial phone numbers off websites? I thought that was an option for this. |

Re: web access on IP Phones
No, we have 4620's and I was told they are supposed to be able to have web access. The settings are also there in the txt file that gets tftp'd down to the phone when it boots up.

Re: web access on IP Phones
You are right, but it's not a traditional web browser. This is for custom apps only. You have developed a custom app for this?

Re: web access on IP Phones
No, but I thought once you specify proxy settings/dns/web address and the phone downloads the txt file it is supposed to put a web button on it and should take you to that site you give access to.

Re: web access on IP Phones
You got the idea. Make sure that you remove the ## before any statment that you what the phone to read. Here is the parts that you need to modify for the 4620 phone.
## ======= COMMON SETTINGS (Recommended) Applies to all 4600 IP Telephones ======= ## ###### Domain Settings ###### ## Your domain ## NOTE: It is recommended that DOMAIN be set via DHCP. ## If you set your DOMAIN via DHCP, do not set it here ## as it will over ride your DHCP setting. ## example: ## SET DOMAIN mycompany.com ## Your Domain Name Server ## NOTE: It is recommended that Domain Name Server be set via DHCP. ## If you set your Domain Name Server via DHCP, do not set it here ## as it will over ride your DHCP setting. ## example: ## SET DNSSRVR 198.152.15.15 ######## Web Settings for 4620 IP Phone ######## ### Please refer to the description on these terms above in SETTINGS4610 SET WMLHOME http://support.avaya.com/elmodocs2/a.../4620/home.wml SET WMLCODING ASCII ## SET WMLPROXY my.proxy.company.com ## SET WMLPORT 8080 ## SET WMLEXCEPT mycompany.com,135.20.21.20 ## SET TPSLIST 135.20.21.20 ## SET SUBSCRIBELIST http://135.20.21.21/subscribe goto END ####### END OF 4620 IP Phone Settings ####### |

Re: web access on IP Phones
Strange. When I first booted my IP phones (without the TFTP server) they came up fine. No web setting. Then I set up my TFTP server and reset my IP phones they booted and downloaded the new files and the web setting appeared. Are you sure that the IP phones are downloading from the TFTP server?
