Changing a warning to a minor alarm?

G3 CM2.X

Guys. I currently use ASA running a box 24/7 to poll my G3's for trunk alarms and minor/major alarms. It works great. Here's the problem. Last week 1 of my Audix's died. Bad power supply. I have no way to monitor the Audix in ASA, so I was not aware of the problem until 8:00 am the next day. When the Audix went down it caused an warning in the G3. "ETH-PT". But I don't get warning sent to my blackberry. So my question, is there any way to change the ETH-PT warning to a minor alarm so that I get an email.

I know I can have ASA send warnings, but I don't want to get an email in the middle of the night if someone unplugs a phone.

Thanks.

Re: Changing a warning to a minor alarm?

I've had some of the trunkerrors changed from warnings to minors for various reasons but ETH-PT... you are crazy man. here's the cheapest way to do it... have ASA send the errors to a mailbox via email, set up an email rule that says: if BODY contains "<ETH-PT (audix)>" forward to: <your email addy>

outside of that it's time to talk to some developers.

Re: Changing a warning to a minor alarm?

Good idea Octel Warrior. I am going to change my ASA to send me warnings then filter out the crap, like phones being disconnected. I didn't think of approaching it like that. Thanks

As an addational item, I am going to use a networking monitoring tool that sends pings and will email me if the audix doesn't respond.

hmm.. that's an interesting way to do it. Assuming you have IP trunks to the switch that would be very effective. Good idea man.
