FaxPress Premier

Arrgghhh!
I need help I know very little about our G3Si and need to figure out how to pass the 4 digits required for the fax server to route it to the apropriate mailbox id. I can get it to work if I actually dial one of the 4 analog lines going into the fax server and adding the appriate 4 digit mailbox id. But when I dial one of the 10 fax lines that are in the coverage path to ring to the hunt group that rings to one of the 4 analog lines inot the fax server it does not come across as dtmf signal and just gets sent to the unaddresses mailbox. HELP!!

Thank you!

Re: FaxPress Premier

usually fax servers are set up to provide the pbx with trunking - T1 or FXS ports. then you route the calls through UDP/AAR. this forces the pbx to "dial" the number its routing.

the way you have it set up now, you need some form of signaling - mode-code or out-of-band - to inform the fax server where to direct the call. it's the vendor's responsibility to provide you with a PBX-specific job-aid.

Re: FaxPress Premier

We used to have 4 analog lines in to our RightFax Server, and the lines had to be provisioned (they were CO lines, not provided by my Definity) as DID lines. My educated guess is you'd have to do the same between your G3 and FAX server.

Re: FaxPress Premier

OK, This is what i ended up doing:
It all came down to the vector ,which I new nothing about because I all of a sudden was the PBX guru.
1. Found out how many digits our Telco was passing through, 4.
2.Created a Vector(100): Converse-on,Split(number of huntgroup),Pri-(H)igh,Passing-VDN,none
3. Create VDN pointing to Vector 100

Works like a charm. I have a super old release of 4. :)

Thanks All
