Multiple Night-Service buttons?

Hi Everybody,
I was under the impression that the "night-serv" button could only be administered on one station per PBX.

If I try to add a second "night-serv" button to a second extension in a PBX with the following software release...
Software Load: R011i.01.2.065.3
Memory Configuration: G3siV11
...I get blocked with a "Button type does not meet min or max requirements" message.

If I try to add a second "night-serv" button to a second extension in a PBX with the following software release...
Software Load: R011r.03.2.536.1
Memory Configuration: G3rV11
...the PBX allows the change. In fact, there are 11 Attendant Consoles that have the "Night-serv" button on it.

Can someone explain to me why the system would allow more than one station (or Attendant) to have the "night-serv" button administered? Thanks!!

Ben

Re: Multiple Night-Service buttons?

ANSWERED!...but one more question

I spoke to Avaya and they explained that since we have Attendant Consoles administered in the PBX, we can add multiple "night-serv" buttons. However, only the 'Principle' Attendant Console can actually activate and de-activate "Night Service." All the rest of the "night-serv" buttons are pretty much busy indicators to let the other people know that "Night Service" is on or off.

Once we delete all the Attendant Consoles from the PBX, then we could add a "night-serv" button to another phone (in our case, a 6424D+M) that would control this feature.

Now, the question. If "Night Service" is activated, and we delete all the Attendant Consoles (including the Principle Console), and then add a new "night-serv" button to a 6424D+M, will "Night Service" remain activated? Meaning, if no phone (or Attendant Console) has the "night-serv" button administered (even for a brief period of time), does "Night Service" automatically turn off?

Thanks

Ben
