Voicemail light will not turn off - octel

I have a definity G3r and octel voice messaging. One of my phones voicemail light will not turn off even though he has no voicemail. What can I do to turn it off. I did this once a long time ago and vaguely remember what I did to fix it.

for the octel got to thr @ prompt and type

This may be that someone has left a word calling message on the phone. I know i have some fun with this feature at work where my access code is *4 then the extension number and it turns on the mw light. Then the only way to turn it off is by dialing #4 extension number from the same phone. You can find you access code for this by doing a display feature-access-codes and see what is under Leave Word Calling send a message and cancel a message codes.

What shows under status station's Messages field? That will tell you if it's LWC, Audix, or other.
