I believe that normally, on standard-type G3 cabinets, the remote maintenance connection is the 25th pair of the AUX connector.
Does the external modem used with a Prologix cabinet (CMC) replace this connection? The pinout chart (page 106) of the TN798 "octopus" type cable indicates that the pins which would terminate at the 25th pair (v/sl sl/v) are just grounds. CMC Installation Guide Am I thinking correctly? Last edited by heiff; June 17th, 2005 at 12:44 AM. Reason: clarity |

Yes, the external modem connects to the octapus cable on the connector so marked. and the "ch sys maintence" form page 2 must be changed to reflect external modem. The PROLOGIC Aux cable also has only one -48v connection for aux equipment,ie console. and 1 -48 volt connection for a power failure relay.

Thanks very much for the replies. It's interesting that you have to specifically "enable" the modem in the maintenance form - one would think that merely having or not having the modem connected would be enough!
