Configure ASA/DSA access on G3SI v8 ?

Title says it all really - anyone have instructions for configuring network access to a G3si running release 8 ? The CLAN (TN799C) is installed and connected to the LAN and has an IP address assigned to it and can be pinged from the LAN so network connectivity is there. I just don't know how to enabled the CLAN for ASA access. Any help appreciated !

Thanks

Telnet access via CLAN was not supported prior to release 9.5. Therefore, you cannot create a native environment wherein you can telnet to your R8 si.

Having said that, however, there is a non-supported method that you can use on ANY serial device that requires an additional piece of hardware. The Lantronix UDS-10 will convert serial to IP and will hook up to your si system in place of the SAT terminal. I have several customers who have put an A/B serial box in their phone room and use one setting for the UDS-10 and the other setting for the SAT terminal when they are actually in the phone room.

Thanks Al ! Guess I'll have to push harder for an upgrade to CM2.

I use a Lansat-10, which is almost identical and it works fine except that only one user can be connected at a time.

The LANSAT-10 and the Lantronix UDS-10 are virtually identical. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Scotsdale OEM's the LANSAT-10 from Lantronix. Take a look at the two side by side:

http://www.lansat10.com/
http://www.lantronix.com/device-netw...rs/uds-10.html

There is one major difference: The LANSAT-10 is over $500.00 and the UDS-10's street price is around $150.00.
