Deinity One RAS Access

I am having problems with a Definity One RAS issue.. my ID is on the NTserver with dial permissions.. normally, we use ASA over WAN, and this still works..

But my ID has no permissions, the terminal window states, for RAS permissions.

Avaya doesn't appear to know the Definity One and want me to do a PCN.. but I know what will happen if I do the PCN: nothing. at least not for the RAS issue.

Isn't RAS as simple as dialup access for the NT ID?

Re: Deinity One RAS Access

On a definity one the RAS is just a Dial up networking connection with windows. just set up a dial up network connection with the Defone on your windows laptop and connect using your NT or server 2000 (depending on which release you have) login. and use the RAS-IP and do a network connection in ASA. You need to make sure you user name in the Defone NT or 2000 has Dial Acc. checked off. Also if you need to reprogram the ras ip, do a Start, Run, Bash then type in unrestric, You SHOULD get to a bash prompt on the definity and type in the command SETIP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and you will be able to reset the ras ip to what you like. remember AVAYA might not like it but if you dont have a mant. contract with them you can set it to what you like.
