Definity G3SI CDR

Hi all,

Have a Definity G3SI and am trying to get CDR working. CDR reporting is enabled on the trunk groups we wish to monitor here. The system paramaters have been set and the output type is EIA as we're using the DCE interface. We have a DB25 cable hooked up with a 25->DB9 converter into the server. Set hyperterminal up to test raw communications, and nothing comes across. Set 9600 , 8 ,1 no flow control. Can't get it dump any data. Anyone have some ideas?

Thanks much!
Nick

I't been awhile since I hooked up to the EIA port ... but usually such comm problems are related to DCE/DTE. Try the DTE setting and/or placing a null modem inline.

Wait a minute ... this is exactly the problem. If you were hooking up to a Modem or a Buffer Box the EIA port setting would need to be DCE because you're hooking up to DTE equipment. Your computer (terminal) is DCE so it's expecting to see a DTE interface. A null modem should fix the problem.

Then again, I might just be giving off sparks ...
