Question Coverage Answer Group on 2 phones

We are on Definity G3S1 CM 2.0 Intuity 5.5

I have two phones: x6259 and x6296. I want both phones to ring if anyone calls either phone. I want voice mail to kick in after x many rings--either to each mailbox or together into 6259.

I can't seem to get a call answer group or other sort of coverage to ring at BOTH PHONES AT THE SAME TIME. I'm pretty sure I can put a dummy extension up front to cover for both phones, but I really don't want this. Is there another feature I'm not aware of that would do this simply?

Thanks for your advice.

Re: Coverage Answer Group on 2 phones

Why not put a bridged appearance of 6259 on 6296 and 6296 on 6259? The call will then ring on both phones, and if it goes unanswered it will follow its coverage path.

Re: Coverage Answer Group on 2 phones

Thanks. I thought of that too, but when I do this, only the called phone rings. The brige shows up on the other phone but it doesn't ring. Is a bridge supposed to ring?

Re: Coverage Answer Group on 2 phones

on the second page of the change station form, Bridged Call Alerting? y OR Per Button Ring Control? y and then change the Ring to "r" for each appearance

Thumbs up Re: Coverage Answer Group on 2 phones
