I don't know what the exact ceiling is, but I agree that it would be problem to connect with 50 clients. The software is just not that robust.
If you can stagger the phones hitting the TFTP server to groups of 5 or so you'll be fine... once the phone dowloads the files, it disconnects from the TFTP server. Are you worried about a power outage? |

Are you changing from TDM phones to IP Phones? Did you do a test run? I STRONGLY suggest you do a test case of 50 IP phones (give or take) before you change over your whole campus. We worked through a minefield in the test run! In fact, we still haven't changed over the campus. Now we're waiting until MedPro firmware 104 before changing over the whole campus, due to the problems we've had with one-way talkpath.
If you have done a test case, I would definitely plug in 10 or less phones at a time, to keep the TFTP server happy. |
