Avaya TFTP Application

What are people using to push firmware updates to boards?

What are people using to push firwmare updates to IP sets?

We're having trouble getting the Avaya TFTP application Avaya TFTP Server Application Version 3.6.1 .

does Avaya's TFTP application support firmware downloads to individual boards?

Re: Avaya TFTP Application

well-said, and thanks.. but can Avaya TFTP work without that? I assume no, for the boards.

1) TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) is an IAB standard and is defined in RFC 1350. It is not unique to Avaya.

2) The Avaya TFTP server sucks ... even Avaya admits that. Their TFTP Server was written and provided simply for those "technoplegic" customers who are unable to locate a REAL TFTP server for themselves.

My recommendation is simply this: Scrap Avaya's TFTP Server and get a real one. There are many. There's one located in the previous thread that I mentioned, Cisco makes one, and here's a link to a free TFTP server by Solar Winds: http://www.solarwinds.net/Tools/Free_tools/TFTP_Server/

Re: Avaya TFTP Application

thanks for the advice.. I don't see much wrong with Avaya's TFTP, but will check it out.. Avaya really pretty much sucks at anything software-related (PC or Windows-based).

It's a shame Cisco doesn't buy Avaya..
