911 on ISDN PRI

We have a site with about (S8700) 130 IP Phones on there LAN and have about 15 ip phones over there WAN accross town. is there a way when the phones over the WAN dial out from the s8700 can show the address of the complex that the phones are at. now when they dial 911 the 911 center sees the address of the s8700 location. They dial out from ISDN PRI. Thanks in advance...

You can call the LEC and tell them that that this block of DID's has a different address. You may need to order a POT's line from the LEC at that location.

Avaya partners with MultiTech. It's a device that you could connect to a POTs line at the remote site, use your IP network to talk to the s8700, create a trunk group and route to get to it. Haven't looked at them in a long time, they make 1 port devices I think.

Re: 911 on ISDN PRI

(1) Install a POTS at your site with 911 information (usually billing info) for the other building.
(2) change ars analysis 911 -- route pattern to a partitioned-route (p911 for example)
(3) create route to POTS line only (no rollover)
(4) change partitioned-route-table 911 -- put PGN1 to a route pattern that goes out the PRI, put PGN2 to the new POTS line route
(5) change time-of-day 1 -- should be pointed to PGN1. change time-of-day 2 -- should be pointed to PGN 2.
(6) Make a new COR for the other building... use your normal station COR as a template, except change the Time of Day Chart to 2

When someone with the original COR calls 911, they use time-of-day chart 1, pointed to PGN1. Partitioned-route-table 911 tells it to go out through a trunk that has home building info.

When someone with the new COR calls 911, they use time-of-day chart 2, pointed to PGN2. Partitioned-route-table 911 tells it to go out through the POTS line with the other building's info.

Re: 911 on ISDN PRI

the above is 100% dead-on. You can even take some of your existing trunks, change their billing/address origination.. partition just the stations that are remote.. sort of by area.. and change isdn public.. in any case, the telco company will likely screw up the order.. and get confused when you have the billing address one way, and the site address another.. I am sorry.. I am just being honest based on my experience. in any case, you can certainly even order an entire circuit with a remote billing address, and simply change the outgoing for that trunk group you create off the S8700.

Another option is to buy a G350, or G650, insert a local DS1 and circuit.. and just route that site's calls out of the G650 which is connected via LAN to the S8700.. I like the G700 option because you could go LSP.. I know this is not where you're headed..

the potsline might be the best option so long as more than one person doesn't call 911 remotely.
