CMS connection to CLAN

Hi, our CMS server (V9) is currently using an X.25 connection. All are configured properly (data module, commm. interface links etc.). Now we need to change the connection using a CLAN card. I already know on how to administer the CLAN card but can anyone help me know the procedures in disabling the first connection and how to meet the connection of CMS server to CLAN like doing a configuration on the CMS server.

Thanks in advance.

Re: CMS connection to CLAN

I would strongly say you need to get Avaya involved.. on the server side, it's not too difficult, but there is a "right to use" permission that needs to be turned on.. if you foresee adding more sites to CMS, you could also have them add the additional links. I also know the node-names have to match up as well.. meaning they like the node on the server to match the node on the PBX--in name and address.

when you go into CMS as root, type "cmssvc" you can display your permissions.. you will, depending on version, see whether or not you have ACD links as tCPIP permissions.. Avaya must go into the "change" menu within cmssvc and change the permissions, then within the kernel and define the ACD link(s), addresses and so on.

Also, depending on your version, if you busy out the mis on the pbx during a CMS pumpup of translation... your system might do a reset system 3.. seriously.

I agree with Blah, I would NOT do that myself. I would get some help on that one. But I myself like using BP's instead of Avaya. If you are looking for a BP to help and you are in the US, I would contact VR.
