Intercom

I have a user that wants to be able to press 1 button on his phone and come across the speaker of another phone no matter if the phone is idle or being used. I created an intercom group and if the other phone is idle it just rings until someone answers it. I tried changing the auto answer field to all and the phone wouldn't auto answer.

I also tried whisper-act and that just rang the other phone w/o coming automatically across the speaker. Any ideas on how to do this?

Re: Intercom

is either phone single-line? If so, problems..

Do BOTH phones have intercom button programmed? Bridged appearances also=problems.

The docs state if the 2nd phone has no intercom button, "automatic access is granted" to the initiating phone..

Re: Intercom

phones are 6424 multi line digital sets. the initiating phone has the intercom button and the receiving phone doesn't. there are several different bridged appearances on both phones.

Re: Intercom

We got this to work at an international location. If you can give me a few days, I will figure it out. I noticed stations on which this works at that location have brdged appearances.. and I know for fact the intercom works precisely the way the above is wanted.. ie: breaking in and interrupting people--whether on the phone or not.
