Copying Announcements to Val Board

One of my hospitals has a TN750B announcement board. They are in the process of purchasing a VAL board sometime over the next month or so.

Is it possible to have the announcements copied form the 750B to the Val board? We have an S8700, running V12 on the switch side and 2.2 on the server side.

I don't think so. Unless you are willing to play the announcements off the 750b and record them into a PC in .wav format, using Sound Recorder. You could then FTP them to the VAL.

This really isn't a optimal choice since you will probably get some degradation in sound quality.

Here's the answer: NO.

You are better off inserting the VAL board now, with new extensions.. and recording the announcements ahead of time.

I have a tip, though.. if you have NICE.. you can call the announcements, save them as .wav files, then import them into the VAL Board via VAL Manager.. I know of a site that had 10 announcement boards.. that site simply migrated their announcements prior to the upgrade, and made the VAL board live well before the upgrade.

You can conference in using Message Manager - record them, export with .lvp, convert with Sound Recorder and then FTP.
