Transtalk 9031

I have a Transtalk 9031 and I've connected the transmitter to the wall and the line cord to the station jack. In my comms room I cross connected from the station port to the available digital port on a TN2224b circuit pack and have also tried it on a TN2224c digital circuit pack. When I click on/off on the phone I see the green lights all lit up on the transmitter and I just get this backround humm and no dialtone. I've tried a totally different phone and transmitter with the same result so I am eliminating the hardware being bad. I set the phone up as an 8410D.

Any ideas on what to try?

Re: Transtalk 9031

MaltMan-

I ran into the same issues with TransTalk - and after a few months of troubleshooting it with AVAYA on-site, and returning various components for RMA... we pulled the systems outs.

I know this isn't much assistance... My suggestions, pull the system out and install SpectraLink. IMHO, much easier to install, integrate & manager - not to mention superior performance and a lighter, smaller product.

Has the handset been registed with the radio module? Have you button mapping for definty? I have a transtalk 9040, these 2 thing need to be done before the system will work.

Also, my transtalk frequently un registers with the radio module. It's a pain, but I only have one wireless phone in my office, so I deal with it.

Re: Transtalk 9031

So what is the deal with Spectralink. The website looks pretty good, but as far as cost and time frame to get working... is it easy?

Re: Transtalk 9031

You'll pay a bit more with SpectraLink (I think it's worth it). I had to get a system installed in less then two weeks - internationially - they delviered. I've had nothing but great experiences with them.
