Releasing or Pulling Customers out of Paging

We have a Bogen paging system connected to our G3cfsV12 (S8100). The port it uses for paging is 01B0501. Any of the office phones can send a page by dialing 805.

The operators for our company (at least once every two months) accidentally send customers into the paging system. The call cannot be pulled back (as far as I know). The poor person gets broadcast through out the building. The only way I can get rid of the call in paging is by unplugging the paging system or waiting for the caller to hang up.

I think I might be able to release port 01B0501 when this occurs from the phone switch. However, I need to give the operators some means to either kill the call or pull the caller back. Has anybody got any ideas?

Re: Releasing or Pulling Customers out of Paging

You may want to consider using a seperate COR for the operators so that they do not have access to the paging. Build the new cor and deny access to the TAC for hthe paging trunk group. This would prohibit them from inadvertently accessing the paging. Then setup a seperate extension with access to the paging and bridge this extension onto the operation(s) station. When they need to page, they can press the bridge and enter the code.

Re: Releasing or Pulling Customers out of Paging

Does anyone know if "busyout port 01B0501" and "release port 01B0501" can be programmed as buttons on the attendant consoles?

I know by running these commands on the phone switch I can end the call stuck in paging. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Re: Releasing or Pulling Customers out of Paging

Why not use a different feature access code other that 805. I would guess the mistake is being made becuase the FAC is close to an internal extension. That would be the simple solution IMHO.

Re: Releasing or Pulling Customers out of Paging

It is as stupid as hitting transfer then selecting the paging option on their consoles. Of course, it sends the call to the paging port. It has happened maybe 5 times in the last year. Is there a way to disable the transfer option to port 01b0501?

I could setup another phone in their area for use of paging only. However, I am trying to keep their jobs easy (by making mine harder). Any ideas? I am also decreasing paging time in seconds.
