Cool Setting up VAL board

I am having tbl setting up a new VAL board. I already have 4 set up but when trying to set up this 5th one I keep getting an error on ip-interfaces where the node name is. When I enter it tells me in the "node name" column that this is a duplicate IP address. Anyone know why this would happen?

I set up node names first, then went to this screen ch ip-interfaces and this is where the problem is. I then need to set up the data module. I want to back up all my announcements on VAL to my network drive.

Thanks, Bev

Re: Setting up VAL board

Are you sure about the ip address set up in the node-name?

Is it duplicate in the network?

What is the release and the material you had?

Re: Setting up VAL board

When I try to enter i get a message "Duplicate IP address" Then the SAT highlights the node-name which is one of the options when I press help.

After triple-checking the list node-names command for that IP address, you may want to ping the IP address you are trying to use 1st from your PC or another net device. Sounds like it may be used by another device. Ask your net admin, or if you do that stuff, check in DHCP for a reservation (or any other IP mgt software you may use).

Re: Setting up VAL board

Thanks all - I got this working now. The IP address was being used by someone in networking after it was assigned to Telecom.
