S3400 Replacement for Interchange, Map100 Intuity AUDIX
Has anyone seen firsthand the new S3400 which will replace the Intuity Interchange? Is it "GA" yet?
What is the direction for the Map100 Intuity AUDIX platform? Mod Messaging? Anyone using this today? Have not read or heard good things. |

Re: S3400 Replacement for Interchange, Map100 Intuity AUDIX
I just put an S3400 2.0 in here.... lots of bumps and scrapes, but it is workable. You have the choice between the Octel and Audix TUIs (Telephone User Interfaces), but there is no setup assistant ("Educator") on the Audix TUI, which is terrible! Also, there is no longer a "bulletin-board" type mailbox, so I had to move several things to the announcement board on the PBX. This killed the snow-closing process we had in place, and I had to completely redo it... Now they have to call me if they are going to change the message, and I change it using VAL manager(whereas before they just changed the message on a bulletin-board to another pre-recorded greeting). Also the automated attendants are gone too -- now they have these things called "caller applications" which, to be honest, I haven't had a single success with. I am usually good about learning new systems but I'll need to take a class to learn caller apps. I agree with Al that it is a big change, which people usually resist... but there are some flaws that they need to look into before I can recommend it to anyone... if they just put an educator on the Audix TUI I think I would be a lot happier.

I have had no problems or hickups with the MM system. the caller apps are wonderfull, to tell the truth you really need AVAYA training to set one of these up. don't get me wrong there is some really good docs on the system that avaya has, but you really need to go to and avaya taught class. I am putting these in the schools and the schools love them. if your looking for just something to give you voicemail, this is not the way to go. but if you want somthing that is very easy to merdge with email and have tons of apps than this is what you want. do your homework with this system is all i can say, if you dont it will bite you in the butt!
