BSR, Tie Lines & D-Channel

I am having a problem with the best services routing between 3 sites for calls queuing. I have researched and found that the BSR feature with Avaya is supposed to use the D-Channel of the tie lines when checking between sites to check wait improvement. For some reason I can not get ours to work properly. The tie lines keep getting channels "seized" as BSR looks back and forth between sites. This is causing busy signals when calling between sites. The only alternative we have if the D-channel is not an option is to purchase additional tie lines. Does anyone have any idea on how to make Avaya use the D-channel? We are using AT&T for our tie lines.

Thank you for the help!

We still haven't figured this out. Avaya doesn't seem to know what is happening. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you for the help! :)

I thought that a b-channel had to be reserved each time a check was done in case the call was to flow. I believe it works this way in case a virtual site was chosen for the best EWT, the PBX wouldn't have a problem transferring the call.

Re: BSR, Tie Lines & D-Channel

I went thought the same thing with Avaya and AT&T.

If you are trying to do BSR via AT&T SDN, It won't work. It must must a point to point service.

I ended up creating a IP trunk for BSR and it works great. :)

Cool Re: BSR, Tie Lines & D-Channel

I have found the best way for our organization was to use IP for polling and to use pt 2 pt (IP or TDM) for the call transfer. we have not seen the channel reservation issues experienced in the traditional arrangement.
