CMS R12 administration contention error

Hi,

I'm trying to change the skill set for an agent in CMS and I received an error message about administrative contention. This is happening when no one else is logged into the system and I was doing it from the console. Does anyone have any idea on what's the cause of this error message and how it can be resolved? Thanks.

Will

The reason for this is an active change being made in the PBX. More than likely you won't be able to make the change in the PBX either, because it will tell you that some other change is being made in the system. If you do try to go into the PBX and find that there is no active change being made and you still get that error, then you probably need to call Avaya to find out what is going on.

Go to your terminal and do a "stat log". This will show you what log-in is running a change command.

I'd like to caution you about the Busy MIS feature. While its good for resetting the link between the PBX and CMS, I wouldn't use it on a regular basis. It resets your link. During the time the link is resetting, you lose your call data, the ability to make changes in CMS, and you have to wait for the link to come back up.
