Outgoing Name on ISDN-PRI

I have an ISDN-PRI through Verizon. I am currently sending out our users' DID as the CP Number, and not sending out the individual extensions' name. The result on the receiving end is a telephone number, but "UNKNOWN NAME" as the name. Is there a way via the PBX to send out our company name on all outgoing calls? Or is this a function of the CO?

Thanks, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Talking Re: Outgoing Name on ISDN-PRI

firstly, if you are referring problem is happeing to the same switch then it's the configuration on the isdn public unknow setting.
secondly, if you are referring the problem happening on another switch then the problem is on the other switch's setting.

Re: Outgoing Name on ISDN-PRI

As far as I know, the name portion of caller ID is generated by a query to an SCP, which is a database maintained by the phone company, so you can send a #, but you can't send a name.

Re: Outgoing Name on ISDN-PRI

It really is a combination of several items. You first need to check with your provider to see if they have this capability. It may depend on the type of central office equipment and how the DS1 is translated. NI2 usually has a greater probability of working. Additionally, even if they do have the capability, it does not mean that the name reach the far end destination. If you are using a CLEC with the capacity to pass names but the LEC is blocking this function or does not have it, then you will only get Names displayed on end users connected to the CLEC. Of course the switch needs to be set up correctly which I assume you have accomplished since you are getting the correct number to go out.
