Hiding the station number display

In a DCS environment, how can you not allow your station display number to travel from switch to switch?

Thank You :cola:

You can't. The specific purpose of DCS is to transport inter-switch signalling so that it appears as one large PBX. Why on earth would you want to block your station identification in a DCS environment?

Question Re: Hiding the station number display

We have a group a people that does outbound calling within the DCS network and would like to have the station numbers blocked in order to prevent direct callbacks.

If the group is not in the dcs mode then you would not be having the direct call back.
For users to call them, you can use the primitive method.
Good Luck.

Re: Hiding the station number display

ah, but you can hide the extension number. you need to use a COS that has 'Client Room' set to yes. then assign that COS to the station you want to mask/hide the number of. then, on that station form on the page with site data info, enter the number you want displayed in the room field. this will only mask internal calls, not external calls.

am not sure, but i bet you have to have some hospitality features to be able to use this.

thanks, tim

Re: Hiding the station number display

you could do a 'cha isdn-pub'. Enter the extension range or extensions, then enter the trunk that they will leave on and the number to be sent. I do this for my non-DID extensions, and put the company's general number.

Well, in this case the group can't be in the DCS listing.
