Connecting Videoconferencing to Definity

I need help in connecting a Tandberg 8000 Videoconferencing system to a Definity Rel 8 si. The existing Tandberg is currently connected to a MCI PRI. I’m removing the connection from the MCI PRI to the Tandberg to the Definity via a DS1 card (TN464F) via a crossover Cat 5 to the Tandberg. I have the DS1 setup as a line side PRI with the D channel on 24. The 23 B channels are working on a trunk group with a group type of ISDN with a service type of TIE. I can get the D channel in service and get all 23 B channel inservice and idle, however when I place a call to another Tandberg Videoconferencing the call starts the setup but soon disconnects. Should there be a Hunt group setup with the B channels set up as DS1FX? The calls to and from the Tandberg go through two existing Bellsouth PRI’s connected to the Definity. I’ve done this line side PRI connection with a Polycom Video to a Definity but I lost the documentation on that setup.

Anyone have any suggestions on this setup?

Re: Connecting Videoconferencing to Definity

I would check the routing. Do a 'list trace tac XXX" where XXX is the TAC number of the trunk group, and watch the call.

Re: Connecting Videoconferencing to Definity

Thanks for the feedback G3Rtech. I found the solution. While working with Tandberg support, he suggested changing the PIC on the outbound call to either 1010288(AT&T) or 1010222(MCI). That worked and I was able to connect at 384k. I just inserted the 1010288 (AT&T) in the routing pattern. The PRI I am using is a USLEC so I will be contacting USLEC to make sure their PRI is conditioned and provisioned for voice and data (video).
