? 1164 on internet

http://www.pbxtech.info/archive/index.php/t-716.html

I have a Definity G3SI that was just upgraded from R8.2 R11.1.3

Since that up grade i am experiencing call rejection o a hand full of 800 numbers. Here is the event the PBX kicked back:

denial event 1164: ISDN call reject D2=CV D1=0xcc D2=0x310310

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Greg

Inbound traffic or outbound dialing?

I have had this event before and Avaya was unable to explain it. I was told that they don't have documentation on some of the "odd" event codes, what a load.

Are the denials on outbound? I had a similar problem when moving from MCI to AT&T (SDN). The route patterns needed to have SDN as the Service/Feature. AT&T was expecting this and the PBX was not

ISDN E1 to T1 Interface problem

I have following setup for a Call Centre.

I have Nortel Passport with E1 interface with Definity and in US end it is Passport with DS1 Links from MCI.

The Passport is configured with A-Law in definity end and in US end it is configured with A-law conversion (i.e A-law to Mu-law and viz).

The problem i am facing here is that If i configured my DS1 board with A-Law Interface companding i am unable to seize the channels. I am getting ambulance tone with following message in trace:-
denial event 1164: ISDN reject D2=DG/LOC/CV D1=0x87 D2=0x40141

If i configure the same with mu-law i am able to establish end to end call but with disturbing voice (crackling voice)

Iam made to understand that at US end the interface companding is mu-Law and hence when ISDN call setup is established it is with Mu-Law and at that instance if my DS1 board is a-Law the call will not establish.

The definity end passport is of E1 interface and can be configured for A-law only.

Can somebody help me in this:-

1. Can such setup works.
2. Can the ISDN setup message be of A-Law.
3. Why cant the Passport having E1 Interface configure for Mu-Law.
4. Any other way of configuring this setup.

All inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks

Jaikar

Hi,
Could You try to chenge the idle code in ds1 form from 11111111 to 01010100.
This the idle code used in Italy for the a-law companding on isdn pri configuration.
