Announcement slots TN750c card
I admin. a DEF. ECS G3rV9. I was having issues with announcement slots all in use and calls waiting w/ dead air for a slot to open. Under the "disp cap" command I see "Recorded Announcement Analog Queue Slots:" 1000 available, 1000 system limit. Is this telling me there can be 1000 callers hitting the same announcement board simutaneously and that caller 1001 would wait for the next slot??
Also, is there any software out to monitor announcements extensions/boards and notify if capacity is reached or that can sense trending to predict capacity issues? Thanks for any and all help! |

Re: Announcement slots TN750c card
Change Announcement - Under "Q" select "Y" so that it'll queue a call to that announcement (the caller should hear rining until the announcement is available).
The other thing you may need to do is duplicate your announcements among multiple boards and vector menus to split calls 50/50 for additional announcement slots. The Announcement Slot parameter you are quoting is for VAL boards - not TN750Cs. Example below... change announcement Ann. No. Ext. Type COR TN Name Q QLen Pr Rt Port 3 18636 integrated 50 1 XXXXXXXXX y NA y 32 01D09 |

Re: Announcement slots TN750c card
Just to follow up: What is the number of slots(would it be 16?) and simultaneous number of callers that could be on one board? Avaya finally got back and said 80 callers w/ 16 ports =1280 but because of "overhead" it is set at 1000. But with Bear's reply, and Avaya may not have bothered with the fact, that I have TN750 as opposed to VAL cards and the 1000 capacity may not be a correct measure.
Thanks again for any help. |

Re: Announcement slots TN750c card
Information from Hardware Guide (VAL & 750C)
TN750C Recorded Announcement (16 channels) NOTE: The TN2501AP circuit pack has replaced the TN750 circuit pack. However, the TN750 circuit pack is still supported in the DEFINITY SI and CSI servers. The TN750 recorded announcement circuit pack records and stores announcements to be played back on demand as part of a calling feature. The TN750 circuit pack has sampling rates of 16, 32, or 64 kbps. The TN750 circuit pack records announcement messages from on-premises or off-premises telephones and can store up to 128 recorded announcements of a maximum of eight minutes total. The TN750 circuit pack has 16 channels and each can play any announcement. Up to 25 call connections can listen to each channel. A total of 10 TN750C circuit packs in a system provides an announcement capacity of 42.6 minutes (at 32 kbps) and 160 ports. In other words, 160 announcements can play simultaneously. The 16 kbps compression rate, which is adequate for VDN of origin announcements, provides a total capacity of 85.3 minutes. Use of multiple TN750C circuit packs allows a more efficient method of providing many kinds of announcements and provides improved management of integrated announcements. TN2501AP Voice Announcements over LAN (VAL) The TN2501AP is an integrated announcement circuit pack that: • Offers up to 1 hour of announcement storage capacity • Provides shorter backup and restore times • Is firmware downloadable • Plays announcements over the TDM bus, similar to the TN750C circuit pack • Has 33 ports, including • One dedicated telephone access port for recording and playing back announcements using port number 1 • One Ethernet port using port number 33 • 31 playback ports using ports 2 through 32 Circuit packs and power supplies Circuit Packs • Uses a 10-/100-Mbps ethernet interface to allow portability of announcements and firmware files over LAN • Uses announcement files that are in ".wav" format (CCITT A- and µ-law, 8 kHz, 8-bit mono)[/indent] Last edited by PBXBear; August 31st, 2004 at 01:29 PM. |

Re: Announcement slots TN750c card
AWESOME! THank you so much. I'm not worthy to rec'v this info. I'll pass it along to my mgmt. here. I had forgotten about the bit rate config. and how that can/could affect space.
Much appreciated again guy! |
