4620 IP Phones

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced any issues with the 4620 ip phones.

Our main issue at the moment is the phone losing all dial tones, at various times on various phones. No keys on the phones give out any dial tone until they are re-booted.

They are all on the latest version of firmware.

It would be nice to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same.

Re: 4620 IP Phones

I have the same issue with my site. I also have a 8700 server and we have a mix of 4620's and 4620sw's. I have found that the 4620sw's are not having this issue. The 4620sw and 4620 phones all have the latest updates. 4620 - firmware version 2.3 and the 4620sw - firmware version 2.8. Any leads on a fix for this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 4620 IP Phones

Hi everyone!

Do you use dhcp to send ip, callserver ip, etc to the phones?, sometimes static ip doesn´t work properly! (we have 250 4620 phones with dhcp without any problem)

Re: 4620 IP Phones

make sure that the network ports are locked at 100 MB and that they are in the correct VLAN. I've had phones freeze up and it was one of the two issues - wrong speed or wrong VLAN.

Yep the computers, phones and ports are all set to 100 full. The VLAN is set correctly also. QOS is also running.

Re: 4620 IP Phones

We found a solution. The issue turned out to be an issue with the avaya server firmware and phones firmware. the old firmware had an issue with the phones locking up. some kind of programming error. When we upgraded our phones and server to the newest latest and greatest version, the issue resolved itself. We haven't had a phone lock up in over two months now. To everyone that tried to help on this, Thank you.
