I know how to block incoming calls to a specific extension, by specifying in the Trunk Group form the dialed number for the extension, and redirecting to a VDN/vector that hangs up on them.
What I want to do is take that incoming ANI number and redirect it, no matter what number they dialed. My trunk group is set up to enbloc/enbloc, and is a tie trunk. Every entry on page 3 of the trunk group form is set as tie. I think there may be something I can do with digit conversion in ARS, but it seems like ARS only handles outbound traffic. Any ideas? |

Thanks for the reply - currently I use vectors when there's a specific DID/extension that is being bothered. How do I route all incoming calls from a certain trunk group through a vector, then have them go on to the intended destination?

What I have seen that works the best is this:
You intercept the call in the trunk form and send it to a VDN which screens the ANI and delivers it back to the intended extension. example.. Incoming DID 5555 is intercepted in the trunk form and sent to VDN 4444. That VECTOR will screen the ANI and if it passes it will route the call back to extension 5555. So basically its intercepted and checked and delivered back to the original extension it was intended for. does that make sense? Nice thing about this is its transparent and nobody knows it was intercepted and screened. |

Yes - this does make sense, but I have a range of several hundred DIDs, and we had a situation where an ex-employee was calling in to lots of different extensions and leaving messages, locking mailboxes, etc. I knew his phone number, and could block him from specific extensions, but couldn't figure out how to block/redirect him from all my DIDs. It almost seems like I'm limited to the number of entries on page three of the trunk form.

Re: Incoming Call Handling
I have not set it up personally,, but I have read many threads about using EC500 to block a specific # from dialing into your switch.
a quote from one of those posts,,, (on another forum) "This is how you fix your issue. Create an xmobile station like this: Cell Phone Number: 'ANI NUMBER' Mapping Mode: origination AND create a COR with this: Calling Party Restriction: origination " Hope that helps you... |
