2 PBX licence

Does anyone know Avaya's policy on this.. one company owns 2 PBX's and they want to xfer RTU from one PBX to another.. which from what i understand wont happen.

So, what about merging the PBX's into 1 PBX and blending licencing.. then unmerging. I dont know. need idea's if possible.

Re: 2 PBX licence

yes that can happen I did it a few weeks ago a customer of mind had a V3 and a V6 was there not doing anything so we upgrade the v6 to a 2.0. for this process we needed the sold to # for avaya to make sure that they really did own the PBX.
but in a nut shell we had avaya made a Blow Back tape what this means is we save translation of the working system and sent it to them and they copy the info the a 2.0 flash card and sent it back to us.
I hope this help you.

Ether scenerio is valid and can happen. However, like everything else at Avaya there is a cost. There are specific SAP codes for TDM Port RTUs, IP Port RTUs, Call Center Agent RTUs, etc.

Moving from seperate, disparate systems into a converged archecture (i.e. Merging into a single PBX) is covered in the Avaya Communication Manager 2.0 License Migration and Merge Offer Description (Referenced as Appendix G in the Communication Manager Product Definition).

License moves between servers is covered in the Avaya Communication Manager 2.0 License Move Offer Description (referenced as Appendix H in the Communication Manager Product Definition).

For specifics on cost, procedures, etc. contact your Avaya AE, Business Partner, or (if you are a Business Partner) speak with one of your Distrubutor's Design Specialists.

Re: 2 PBX licence

can this be as simple as just transfering licencing from one PBX to another PBX? i though this was a no-no.
Both PBX's are owned by the same company.

Yes. You can transfer, say, 100 of 500 TDM Port RTUs from one PBX to another ... again, for a cost. This is a relatively new development and has only been available for about a year (or a bit less).

No. Unfortunately it is an internal, proprietary document that is restircted from distribution. If you are a Business Partner you can download it from the BP website. If not, contact your Business Partner or Avaya AE.
