T1 down before switching to PRI

We were scheduled to change over to PRIs tonight at 5:30. Turn up was scheduled with Verizon. Our existing Flex Path T1 that services our DID range is now getting a busy signal for all incoming calls. Verizon must have done something and have been looking into this for 3 hours.

Avaya cannot dial in to the RMATs - they are getting the same busy signal because the number they dial is in our did range. We would like for them to be able to dial in so that we can switch to the PRI since we are down anyway. I cannot do anything at the console due to having no permissions.

Any suggestions? I think we are stuck until verizon fixes.

Thanks.

Re: T1 down before switching to PRI

do you have copper lines coming into the building? They may (should) still have tone. Borrow one of those and connect it to the 25th pair of the AUX connector.

Re: T1 down before switching to PRI

I hear and feel your pain.

When we switched to PRI's earlier this year we did it in steps.

1. Get the PRI's idling. The turned out to be a nightmare. The company doing the work was purchased by Avaya so I had to figure this out for myself!!!! Now it's a piece of cake ;)
2. Try routing outbound calls over the PRI.
3. Move only one range of DID #'s to PRI, pick a range that doesn't include important people, if possible.
4. Move the rest of the DID ranges.
5. Wait a couple months then disconnect old copper trunks.

Yes it takes longer to do this in stages but it was necessary to have minimal, if any, down time!
