Cool G3R without a console

We have a site that has a V11 G3R and they want to be able to forward the console to another phone when the operator needs to do copying or filing. They do not want to use night service because the calls go to an Audix mailbox that plays an after-hours greeting. We have considered replacing the console with a regular phone (6424) and assign it our main LDN. This would work for the call forwarding part. What happens to internal callers that dial 0 in this scenario ?

Re: G3R without a console

we don't have any actual 'attendant consoles' at out location. they are all 8434 sets that are in an acd. any numbers that route to the operators go through a couple different vectors. the vectors are wrote so that if no agents are logged in the calls go an alternate extension that is bridged on several phones. this allows the night operator to go the bathroom/breakroom or whatever she needs to do. we even have a wireless phone they use when they have to leave their station.

lemme know if you need some more info on it.

Re: G3R without a console

Thanks. I understand the vector part. Your main number is a vdn and the vector distributes the calls. What happens when a user dials O, that would normally reach an console. Is there a way to redirect calls to 0 to another extension or vdn ?

Re: G3R without a console

yea, just make '0' another vdn and point it to the vector that queues calls to the acd. may have to change the dialplan to make 0 an actual extension, i don't remember for sure.

Re: G3R without a console

What about the "Emergency Access to Attendant". Were does this go without the attendant console?
