Re: Modular Messaging
Another problem we are having, installing a MSS-H, IF you dont install the license file you can not admin the 2nd MAS in the System. You have to load the license file to allow the configuration of the 2dn MAS. Also had to change the private IP address's because of conflict with the S8700, BE VERY carefull, this can be a pain...
Another problem, after changing the private IP, the machine shows the Messaging App, Server started, but when you try and add caller apps, the system comes back with error message, MM APP not started. HAve to go to monitor and restart the MM service, once you do this then the caller apps will work. Avaya has looked and this and can find nothing wrong. ( the system is sitting NOT intergrated with the S8700. Will be using E-1 QSIG.) so I do have VM server alarm 900, this will go away after hooking up the S8700. After I changed the private IP address's, when I went to upload the changes to the host file name, the 2nd MAS came back with error, services not started, had to restart MM App Service to get the host file to update.Once it was restarted then the host file name updated... Also when installing on Exchange, you must watch the wizard, It will not ALWAYS apply the correct permissions for the server. We had this because our E-mail server is also the domain controller. You will see this if the wizard does not reappear when you are configuring the exchange server |

Re: Modular Messaging
Make sure before you install Modular Messaging that you go through and complete all of the planning forms. After you've completed them, you have to send them into avaya and get them "blessed". If you go by those forms, it really will help make the installation go alot smoother.
Ive installed two modular messaging systems and so far I've ran into a few minor problems that we worked through and have gotten resolved. Both systems have been up and running stable for a few months now with no problems. One system was T1-QSIG and the other was straight DCP. The one thing I didnt like about modular messaging though was the Caller Applications. Theres not much you can do with auto attendants inside of it, but avaya states that the newer version will be much better. |

Re: Modular Messaging
I've installed three systems. one exchange T-1, one DSE ( that unit CRASHED and customer went BACK to the Intuity), and one E-1,
I would also state that IF you DO NOT have Planning Form A completed, DONT OPEN THE BOX... |
