Question maintenance ID's

Twice within the last month a maintenance ID has been logged in, in our call center. The login ID appeared at the same extension both times. On both occasions the user of that extension was not in. Does anyone know if the switch can generate an ID to be logged in at a particular station? Has anyone come across this situation or have some kind of explanation?

Thanks in advance.
